How to make a Resume stand out Do you want a resume that can land you more job interviews? As the Australian employment market is very competitive, it is hard to land your first job without making your resume attractive for the employers. Most of the students and recent graduates I worked with did not have a clear idea of what important aspects they should consider when writing a good resume. There are a lot of strategies that you can follow to make your resume stand out. I’ll briefly explain the most important ones below: Have a Profile section at the beginning instead of Objectives Have a clear message in the Profile section; Start with the clear vision of what you can offer to the company instead of what you want out of the position Pinpoint your strengths; You must mention the things you are good at Highlight your accomplishments rather than your job responsibilities in any previous job or project work; the problems you have solved and how you have solved those problems to make you more attractive candidate Make it relevant to the job description; Update your resume for every position according to the job description Speak in hiring manager’s language; Use the keywords mentioned in the job description Spend extra time on formatting and designing your resume; Use ‘Bold’ and ‘Italic’ text, line breaks and extra spacing to highlight important aspects. Breakup information into bullet points to draw attention. Use alternate font styles Keep it short and simple; explain your accomplishments, job or project work in simple and effective words. Do not write paragraphs of stories For a free review of your resume, please send your resume through Contact us page. If you need any help with resume writing, we can help you.
